Man stabbed in Villeray-Saint-Michel park Wednesday night

A 31-year-old man was injured in a brawl near Gary Longhi Park and remains in stable condition. Police are seeking witnesses and reviewing security footage.

Montreal police are investigating after a man was stabbed in a brawl in the Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension borough Wednesday night.

Police received several 911 calls around 10:15 p.m. reporting a person injured with a sharp object near the corner of 20th Avenue and Villeray Street. When officers arrived, they found the 31-year-old man in Gary Longhi Park with injuries to his upper body. He was conscious and taken to hospital where he remains in stable condition.

According to initial reports, a conflict escalated between several people in the park resulting in the stabbing. Witnesses are being investigated and police are looking for security camera footage in the area.

No arrests have been made. There were no other injuries.
