Police in Gatineau are investigating a stabbing that occurred Saturday morning, August 1, in the Hull district near the intersection of Lanctot and Chevalier streets, south of Mont Bleu Boulevard.
A man in his 60s suffered stab wounds and was bleeding heavily when police arrived at the scene around 10 a.m. Paramedics stabilized him and transported him to hospital. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Police said Saturday afternoon they had not established a firm cause for the confrontation. Investigators have not identified whether the victim and attacker knew each other, or whether the stabbing was random. No arrest has been reported, and police have not identified a suspect.
This is the latest in a series of stabbings in the Ottawa region. In July, a man was stabbed five times downtown. In May, two people were stabbed at Mooney's Bay amid violent confrontations.
