British Columbia's October 24 provincial election now has candidates in all 93 ridings after the nomination deadline closed Saturday, October 3, at 1 p.m.

A total of 335 candidates are running across 10 political parties and 15 independents or unaffiliated candidates. The B.C. Conservatives are the only party with a full slate, fielding all 93 candidates. The B.C. NDP has 92 candidates, with no one running in Peace River North, where Conservative Curtis Whitford and Independent incumbent Jordan Kealy are competing.

Kealy, the current MLA, was charged in June with sexual assault related to an alleged 2024 incident; the case remains in courts.

Other parties running are the B.C. Green Party (73 candidates), Centre B.C. (35), One B.C. (33), the Christian Heritage Party (3), the Communist Party (4), the Libertarian Party (4), the CanWest Party (2), and the Freedom Party (1). Seven candidates are running as independents and eight as unaffiliated.

The NDP called on the Conservatives to remove two sitting incumbents — Heather Maahs in Chilliwack North over past comments on LGBTQ+ community issues, and Anna Kindy in North Island over 2022 comments on COVID-19 vaccines. Both remain on the ballot.

This marks an increase from the 2024 provincial election, when 322 candidates ran across 269 party-affiliated candidates and 53 independents or unaffiliated runners.
