Canada Child Benefit payments land in parents' accounts tomorrow, October 20

The next Canada Child Benefit (CCB) payments will land in parents' bank accounts on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. Families with an adjusted net income less than $38,237 will receive the maximum amount for each child.

For the period from July 2026 to June 2027, maximum payments are $8,157 per year ($679.75 per month) for children under six years of age, and $6,883 per year ($573.58 per month) for children six to 17 years old. These amounts have increased from the previous period, when they were $7,997 per year ($666.41 per month) for kids under six and $6,748 per year ($562.33 per month) for children between six and 17.

Benefit payments are recalculated each July based on the recipient's adjusted family net income from the previous year. Your CCB payments for July 2026 to June 2027 are based on your adjusted family net income from 2025. Depending on your income, payments could go up, down, or stay the same. Your CCB payments may stop in July if you and your spouse or common-law partner do not file your tax return on time. You must file your tax return even if your income is tax-exempt or you have no income. The Canada Revenue Agency urges anyone who hasn't filed their 2025 taxes yet to do so right away to continue receiving benefit payments.
