So Delicious ice cream recalled across Canada for plastic and gravel in cashew mix

Health Canada has issued a voluntary recall for So Delicious Dairy Free's 500 mL Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert over the potential presence of plastic-like and gravel-like foreign materials in the cashew inclusions.

The company said it has identified and corrected the issue and plans to bring the product back to market safely. The recall affects seven best-before dates: September 8, 2027; October 15 and 16, 2027; February 3 and 25, 2028; and March 30 and 31, 2028.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is overseeing the recall. Consumers are instructed not to use, sell, serve or distribute affected product. The dessert has been available at Sobeys, Walmart, Loblaws and Real Canadian Superstore.

This is the second recall of the same product this year for the same reason. A previous voluntary recall occurred in January 2027. The company said in its statement, "Out of an abundance of caution, we have voluntarily recalled this product due to the potential presence of foreign materials within the cashew inclusions."

Other flavours of So Delicious Dairy Free have not been reported as affected. No injuries or illnesses have been reported from consumption of the affected product.
