Bar Romy takes over Figo's Entertainment District spot
Italian menu returns to the John and Adelaide corner later this summer, with new ownership but familiar flavours.
Figo's decade-long run at the prime Entertainment District corner of John and Adelaide came to a hard stop in early 2026 — preceded by a devastating fire in 2023 that shuttered the Italian restaurant for months. Before it fully recovered, it closed for good.
Now Ink Entertainment, the ownership group behind other neighbourhood anchors like Honey Chinese, Primadonna, and Vinny, is ready to move forward. Bar Romy will replace Figo at 295 Adelaide St. W. this summer, keeping the Italian focus alive on the same bustling corner.
Details remain sparse — the restaurant's nascent Instagram shows pizza, panini, and pasta as the core offerings. For regulars who came to rely on Figo's easy-to-enjoy classics and house originals, the continuity of Italian on that corner feels like the neighbourhood isn't giving up on the spot. The Entertainment District's restaurant landscape shifts constantly, but some corners earn a second act.
