Kraft Dinner is making a play for TikTok's creamy ramen craze. The company just launched KD Ramen—a hybrid that pairs KD's signature neon-orange cheese powder with instant ramen seasoning for umami depth.

The line comes in three flavours: cheesy, extra cheesy, and extra spicy. Each bowl includes an envelope of cheese powder plus a second pack of ramen seasoning. Kraft is giving away samples at 7-Eleven locations across Toronto.

The move makes sense. The marriage of Japanese noodles and cheese has been a global trend for years—it started decades ago in South Korea, when adding a Kraft Single to instant ramen became a way to tone down spice while upping calories. TikTok "discovered" and popularized the hack more recently, part of a wider Gen Z obsession with creamy ramen, especially the fiery Buldak brand. Now KD, the former go-to snack for students and stoners, is betting it can reclaim market share from the spicy-ramen crowd.

How does it taste? The ramen flavours overpower the cheese—which tracks, since Kraft Dinner has always been pleasingly bland. The extra spicy flavour is the winner, with more bite and better balance. That's no surprise: it was the unholy marriage of spice and processed cheese that kicked off this whole craze in the first place.
