La Cubana closes all Toronto locations after 13 years in business
The beloved medianoche sandwich spot, which started on Roncesvalles in 2012, has shuttered its final three locations.

La Cubana, the Toronto Cuban sandwich spot that built a devoted following over 13 years, has closed all its locations. The Roncesvalles flagship opened in 2012, followed by an Ossington location and a stall at The Well's Wellington Market Food Hall. A seasonal outpost at Base 31 is also gone.
Corinna Mozo, founder and chef, and her brother Pablo Mozo, co-owner, announced the closures citing cumulative strain. "The pandemic, subsequent inflation, high food costs, tax, insurance and energy increases, many weather events, and other factors made operating the restaurant unsustainable," they said.
The Roncesvalles location's closure was announced in September 2025. The Ossington location followed less than a year later. The Well location shut down months after that. Each closure marked the end of a chapter in a restaurant that specialized in hefty sandwiches, barbecue platters, and its signature medianoche sandwiches.
The Mozos said they are moving focus to "other endeavours," though specifics have not been disclosed.
