Many Toronto businesses will be closed on Canada Day, Wednesday, July 1, but some key grocery stores, pharmacies, and liquor retailers remain open for those who need them.
GROCERY STORES Most major chains are closed, including Costco, Walmart, No Frills, FreshCo, and Food Basics. However, select locations operate limited hours:
Loblaws locations at 60 Carlton Street and 396 St. Clair Avenue West are open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.; the St. Clair East store (12 St. Clair Avenue East) is open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sobeys has limited openings at Yonge and Balliol (22 Balliol Street) and High Park (199 Roncesvalles Avenue). Farm Boy locations at 777 Bay Street (8 a.m.–8 p.m.), 81 St. Clair Avenue East (8 a.m.–9 p.m.), 207 Queens Quay West and 100 Queens Quay East (both 8 a.m.–10 p.m.) remain open. Metro's College Park location (444 Yonge Street) is open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Longo's has eight locations open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., including 111 Elizabeth Street, 111 St Clair Avenue West, and 1100 King Street West. T&T Supermarket in Promenade Shopping Centre is open 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Whole Foods Yorkville (87 Avenue Road) is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Rabba locations remain open 24/7.
LIQUOR STORES The LCBO is closed. The Beer Store has 14 locations open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., including 1718 Wilson Avenue, 81 Billy Bishop Way, 6212 Yonge Street, 3078 Don Mills, and 3130 Danforth Avenue.
PHARMACIES Most Shoppers Drug Mart locations are open. Rexall has 17 locations operating, including College Park (777 Bay Street), Queen & University (250 University Avenue), Dundas & Spadina (285 Spadina Avenue), and Yonge & Richmond (159 Yonge Street).
