Suspects sought in Richmond Hill smash-and-grab at electronics store; stolen truck recovered

Two armed men smashed display cases and fled with electronics on July 5. A third suspect drove a stolen Ford F-250 southbound on Highway 404.

York Regional Police are seeking two male suspects after a smash-and-grab robbery at a commercial business in Richmond Hill on July 5 around 3:20 p.m. at High Tech Road and Red Maple Road.

Both suspects entered the store armed with at least one metal object each and immediately began smashing glass display cases. They grabbed a quantity of electronics and fled the scene. They ran to a waiting black Ford F-250 pickup truck, driven by a third accomplice. The truck was later determined to be stolen from Toronto and was last seen heading southbound on Highway 404.

No injuries were reported.

The first suspect is described as a white male, 30–40 years old, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall. He was last seen wearing an orange T-shirt, grey pants, white shoes, a black-and-white hat, medical mask and gloves. He has a distinctive tattoo on his right forearm featuring four large characters.

The second suspect is a white male, 30–40 years old, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall. He was wearing a dark blue T-shirt, blue jeans, white shoes and a black hat. He has a large floral-style tattoo covering his left upper arm.

No suspect description was available for the driver. York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit is continuing to investigate and appealing for witnesses.
