Scarborough neighbourhoods dominate Toronto's friendliness rankings with Agincourt North in the lead

Toronto's friendliest neighbourhood has been revealed: Scarborough's Agincourt North neighbourhood earned a perfect friendliness rating of 100 in Nextdoor Canada's 2026 rankings, based on real neighbour interactions on the neighbourhood network platform.

Nearby Scarborough neighbourhoods followed closely — Malvern and Rouge tied for second place with scores of 99, Woburn took third with 98, and Don Valley Village North rounded out the top five at 97. The network compared real neighbour interactions on their platform to determine friendliness by measuring positive or negative tone in posts, how often neighbour requests for help or recommendations were fulfilled, posts expressing neighbourhood pride or dissatisfaction, the number of free items shared, welcome posts that receive responses from neighbours, and posts promoting or recommending local businesses.

Agincourt North received a perfect score across the board. Nextdoor highlighted the area's diversity, cleanliness, family-friendly feel and peaceful atmosphere, noting that everyday acts of kindness help make a neighbourhood feel like home. Kelsey Grady, the head of Global Communications at Nextdoor, said: "A friendly neighbourhood isn't just about where you live and the physical infrastructure; it's about the people who make a place feel like home. Canadians are grappling with rising costs and negativity across social media, making it so important for the communities we live in to facilitate positive connection. These rankings celebrate the communities where those everyday acts of kindness and support are happening most often."
