Toronto roads around the stadium are closing all day Thursday for the Portugal vs. Croatia FIFA World Cup match, which kicks off at 7 p.m. Drivers should plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time.

Major closures run from 2 p.m. to midnight: Lake Shore Boulevard West is closed from Bathurst Street to British Columbia Road; Strachan Avenue is closed in both directions from East Liberty Street to Lake Shore Boulevard West; and all roads within Exhibition Place are closed. Liberty Village has local access only for residents and businesses south of King Street between Dufferin and Strachan Avenue.

An expected temporary closure on Lake Shore Boulevard West from British Columbia Road to Jameson Avenue is scheduled for approximately 4:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Eastbound traffic will be diverted onto the Gardiner Expressway.

Fan marches will compound delays. Portugal supporters begin their march at 3:30 p.m. from Stanley Park, while Croatia fans depart from Croatia House at 5 p.m. The TTC has said that beginning at 1:30 p.m., routes 63 Ossington, 504 King, 509 Harbourfront and 511 Bathurst will divert around the area. Commuters are urged to plan ahead and use alternate routes like King or Queen Street.
