Two men face first-degree murder charges and police are searching for a third suspect after Marcus Charles, 32, was found dead inside a burning vehicle in Scarborough on September 21.

Charles was shot before the vehicle was set ablaze in a field near Steeles Avenue East and Reesor Road around 11:24 p.m. Rushon Powell, 25, and Shakurwa Jeffrey, 25, both from Toronto, have been charged—Powell with first-degree murder and Jeffrey with accessory after the fact to murder. Devondre Hall, 25, also from Toronto, is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for first-degree murder in the same case.

Powell is scheduled to appear at Toronto Regional Bail Centre Monday morning, while Jeffrey has a court appearance also set for Monday. Police have not confirmed a connection between Charles's death and a second homicide that occurred the same night: Mohamud Kheyre, 30, was found shot inside a burning vehicle near Royal York Road and Edenbridge Drive in Etobicoke. Both victims were targeted and killed before their vehicles were burned, authorities said.

Anyone with information about Hall's whereabouts or the homicides is asked to contact Toronto police at 416-808-7400 or Crime Stoppers.
