The TTC is closing a three-kilometre stretch of Line 1 between St Clair and College stations this weekend for planned track work. Service shuts down Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20, with shuttle buses replacing the subway on that route. Summerhill and Rosedale stations will be fully closed to commuters, and the Dundonald Street entrance at Wellesley Station will also close. Other stations along the closure stay open for fare card purchase and surface route connections.

Regular subway service resumes Monday, September 21 at approximately 6 a.m. The closure arrives amid other transit disruptions: UP Express and GO's Barrie and Kitchener lines both have major outages during the same weekend, compounding commuter headaches.

The closures bookend the weekend. Nightly early closures for the same stretch run Monday, September 14 through Friday, September 18 at 11:59 p.m., and again Monday, September 21 through Friday, September 25. The TTC has not stated how many daily commuters this closure affects.
