The TTC will shut down an 11-kilometre stretch of Line 1 Yonge-University all day Sunday, June 7, forcing commuters onto replacement shuttle buses from early morning until Monday.

The closure runs from St George to Sheppard West. The last train on that stretch will depart at 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Glencairn and Dupont stations will be completely closed to passengers. Multiple entrances at other stations will also be shut: the Ranee Avenue entrance at Yorkdale, the Heath Street entrance at St Clair West, and the Kendal Avenue entrance at Spadina. Other affected stations remain open for fares and surface connections.

The TTC warns that even when service resumes Monday, expect slow speeds. Work continues between Lawrence West and Wilson on Monday, June 8, with single-track operation needed for structural maintenance in restricted speed zones.

If you rely on that stretch of Line 1 over the weekend, plan for extra travel time or use surface routes.
