Woman, 82, dies after being struck by car at Bridletowne Circle and Finch in Scarborough

An 82-year-old woman is dead following a collision in Scarborough on Friday, September 4. The incident occurred near Bridletowne Circle and Finch Avenue East shortly after 6 a.m.
A 49-year-old woman driving a white Toyota RAV4 was travelling southbound on Bridletowne Circle and turning westbound onto Finch Avenue East when the vehicle struck and ran over the pedestrian. The 82-year-old was crossing from the northwest corner of the intersection. She was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition and succumbed to her injuries Friday evening.
The driver and vehicle remained at the scene. Toronto Police Service indicated no suspected impairment was involved. Const. Jaime Loomans said Toronto that "it is too early to determine if speed was a factor." The investigation is ongoing.
Police are requesting anyone with information to contact them. Charges against the 49-year-old driver have not been announced.
