Dames Dine Around returns this September at B.C.'s top restaurants with seats still available
Two nights of special multi-course dinners paired with B.C. wine and cider support women leaders in food and hospitality, with prices ranging from $50 to $250.

B.C.'s most celebrated restaurants are hosting two special nights of dining for a cause this September, with many tables already claimed but seats still available at select venues.
Dames Dine Around returns September 15 and 16, bringing together restaurants, chefs, wineries and cideries across the province. Each participating venue creates a multi-course menu for the evening, paired with beverages from B.C. producers. Guests are seated together at a special table and have the chance to meet and chat with the chefs and restaurateurs behind the meal. All proceeds go toward Les Dames d'Escoffier, BC Chapter—100 per cent of ticket sales support the organization's scholarship and outreach programs, including Chefs in the Classroom and Growing Chefs.
Tickets range from $50 to $250 per person, depending on the restaurant, with gratuity not included. A number of high-profile dinners have already sold out, including Baan Lao, Blue Water Cafe, Five Sails, Kissa Tanto, L'Abattoir, Lila, Le Crocodile by Rob Feenie and Wildlight Kitchen + Bar.
As of August 28, twenty venues still had seats available. In Vancouver, just two seats remain at Botanist, Maxine's, Nui and Provence Marinaside. Four seats remain at Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar, Fable Kitchen, Honey Salt and The Sandbar Seafood Restaurant, while ARC at the Fairmont Waterfront has six. Outside the city, options include Globe @ YVR in Richmond, Bridge Brewing in North Vancouver, Hart House in Burnaby, Gourmet Girl Cafe in Sechelt, and venues in Gibsons and Oliver. Whistler still has several choices including Araxi, Bearfoot Bistro, Il Caminetto and Wild Blue.
Les Dames d'Escoffier International traces its roots to New York in 1976, when food journalist Carol Brock brought together 50 prominent women at a time when the professional culinary and hospitality world was dominated by men. The organization took its name from legendary French chef Auguste Escoffier. The British Columbia chapter was formed in 1992 by eleven founding members. Julia Child, one of the organization's most famous members, was named its first Grande Dame in 1977 and remained an enthusiastic supporter of mentorship work helping students succeed in culinary careers.
