Dovetail, the West Coast–focused restaurant on Mainland Street, is getting a sibling. Bevel is arriving at 1165 Mainland—just two minutes away from Dovetail's current location at 1079 Mainland.

While Dovetail centres on California-inspired share plates, dinners, and cocktails, Bevel will draw from the Atlantic with a New York-inspired concept, according to the owners. In a nod to the kinship, Dovetail greeted its sibling on Instagram with "Hey sister."

Bevel is opening in the former MeeT space, which closed this spring. MeeT was the third location in the chain to shutter in less than a year—following its Victoria spot's closure in July 2025 and Gastown location last November. An exact opening timeline for Bevel hasn't been announced yet.
