Vancouver's restaurant landscape is shifting this summer with a wave of anticipated openings, from casual neighbourhood spots to ambitious dining destinations.

Bevel, arriving at 1165 Mainland Street, will open as a 2,800 sq. ft. space with 140 seats centred around a bar, with a dining room and all-season patio launching on day one. The menu is still being finalized, but expect New York-style pizza with a crispy, thin crust made from a dough recipe Chef Christiansen has been perfecting for over three years.

French Creek Pub is taking over the former Burgoo location at 1100 Burrard Street. The pub, originally established on Vancouver Island over 40 years ago, brings pub classics—burgers, drinks, and award-winning fish and chips—to downtown Vancouver.

In Fraserhood, Maria Celeste is opening as a 36-seat Portuguese restaurant honouring Portugal's cherished tascas—everyday neighbourhood gathering places where food, wine, and conversation unfold naturally. The restaurant is brought by hospitality veterans and brothers Justin and Cristian Isidro, named in tribute to their mother.

Blaze Gourmet Burgers is expanding into Port Moody with a location at 4-55 Electronic Ave., expected to open later this month. The local chain is known for signature burgers like the Sizzle Melt (a cheeseburger served in a pool of melted cheese) and offers beef, chicken, and vegan options, including the Busan Chicken with buttermilk fried chicken and homemade Korean sauce.

These openings reflect a dining scene eager to experiment with flavour and community—whether that's building energy around a bar or creating intimate gathering spaces tied to culinary tradition.
