Pret A Manger landed at YVR's international departures food court after security, open 24 hours. The British chain brings freshly prepared, grab-and-go sandwiches, wraps, salads, and baked goods, plus organic coffee and vegetarian and vegan options. It's well known to UK and international travellers but still relatively unfamiliar in B.C.
Mello Donuts opened its third Vancouver location at 1428 Robson Street, soft-opening its brioche-style doughnuts in a space with dine-in seating. The team posted on Instagram that they're "still in our soft opening stage and getting everything settled," and teased new menu items beyond doughnuts.
Rico Chicken is a delivery-only concept from Ricardo Valverde, the chef and owner behind the award-winning Suyo Modern Peruvian and Uchu Cevicheria. Every certified organic chicken comes from Windberry Farms in Abbotsford, marinated 24 hours in yogurt and spices, then brushed with Valverde's signature anticuchero sauce—a savoury, smoky Peruvian marinade—and roasted until charred. The menu centres on half and whole chickens with house-made sides: Peruvian cornbread, garlic rice, chimichurri fingerling potatoes, and made-to-order salads. Sauces include creamy Aji Pollero, Tapenade Aioli, Fuego Baby hot sauce, and Rico Gravy made from slow-roasted chicken bones and herbs.
Sing Sing Willowbrook opened in Langley's Willowbrook Shopping Centre as the third location for the beloved Main Street and Commercial Drive spot known for its pho-pizza-and-more menu. Classics like the Brisket and Kimchi Pasta, Avocado and Crispy Tofu Bowl, and Chicken Katsu Sandwich are all on the expanded menu.
