Gotham Steakhouse brings summer ease to downtown
New seasonal menu arrives with ceviche, harissa cauliflower, and international spritzes through mid-July — plus fan-favourite fried chicken returns.
Gotham Steakhouse & Cocktail Bar on Seymour Street has rolled out a summer menu designed to feel like a reprieve from the FIFA buzz — dishes leaning Mediterranean and light, paired with refreshed cocktails and a return of its most-requested fried chicken.
The seasonal menu, available now through July 12 in the lounge and on the patio, offers ceviche with prawn and red snapper, a Mediterranean salad with compressed watermelon and feta, harissa-roasted cauliflower with Greek yogurt and pomegranate, and butternut squash ravioli with seared Hokkaido scallops. The kitchen has also refreshed its lounge offerings: a Gotham Cheesesteak built with shaved Canada Prime New York strip, caramelized onions, and Gruyère ($38.50); a Canadian Burger pairing Quebec blue cheese with crispy onion ring and house BBQ sauce ($31); and the return of Seymour Street Fried Chicken with blue cheese and sweet chipotle sauces ($24.75).
The bar team is rotating internationally inspired spritzes built around Blue Mountain Gold Label Brut. Pickled BC herring with parsnip purée and toasted rye ($23.50) and tomato bread with fresh BC tomatoes and garlic confit ($12.50) round out the snack list.
Gotham remains one of downtown's great refuges — comfortable seats, attentive service, a slower pace — and the seasonal menu makes it an easy spot to settle in for an afternoon, whether you're hosting visitors or taking a break from the World Cup energy.
