Hook Seabar is closing October 30, marking another departure from Vancouver's West End restaurant scene.

The affordable, laid-back seafood restaurant at 1210 Denman—the longtime home of Milestones before Hook opened in 2017—offered fish and chips, sous-vide octopus, and raw bar items like caviar, ceviche, and tuna tartare.

"After 10 amazing years, Hook Restaurant would like to publicly say goodbye," the restaurant said in an Instagram post. "It has been an honour to have served this beachside corner for all these years and become a part of an irreplaceable community. We will never forget you, so I hope you never forget us."

The closure comes less than two weeks after Bayside Lounge, another West End establishment, announced it was shutting down. Hook's departure adds to a string of restaurant closures across the Vancouver area. As HOC reported in June, five restaurants shuttered in the region that month, and in August, a longtime Greek restaurant closed. The restaurant did not provide a statement explaining reasons for the closure.
