Sushi Aboard closing West End location after six years on Denman

Sushi Aboard, Vancouver's first restaurant with a bullet train-styled sushi delivery system, is closing its West End location at 1047 Denman Street on Monday, Sept. 7.
The restaurant opened there in 2020 and has thanked the neighborhood in an Instagram post. "We want to send a massive thank you to our local West End community and every single customer who has walked through our doors over the years," the post reads. The spot typically remains closed Mondays and Tuesdays, but Sept. 7 marks the final day of operations.
The closure is not the end of the business. "We're currently hard at work behind the scenes getting our next location ready! The journey isn't over—we're just prepping for the next chapter," the post says. The restaurant has not yet announced the address or opening timeline for the new site.
The Denman Street address has housed several restaurants since before Sushi Aboard opened, including Grove Inn Restaurant, Fusion Bay Vietnamese & Western Cuisine, and Cacao 70. Several Vancouver restaurants have closed or relocated in recent months, including Odd Burger, which shut its only remaining city location in July.
