To Live For Bakery, widely considered one of Vancouver's top spots for vegan baked goods, is opening a second location this November at 183 Terminal Ave. inside Vancity Credit Union's renovated head office — steps from the seawall and the SkyTrain.
Founder Erin Ireland announced the expansion on Instagram, saying the timing and location were unexpected. "Four months ago, there were absolutely no plans to open another location. But when Vancity reached out about a space in their renovated head office branch right by the SkyTrain and the seawall, the timing, the location, and the support they were offering were just too good to pass up," she wrote.
The new space will operate as a kiosk inside what Vancity is positioning as a community gathering hub, with open seating. Unlike the flagship location, the kiosk won't serve cakes — instead offering fresh animal-free pastries, sandwiches, and lattes restocked throughout the day from Ireland's newly opened wholesale bakery. "Vancity isn't building a traditional 'branch' here, they're building a community gathering hub, with open seating and room to use as you like. It's a pretty cool thing to see a major institution put this kind of support behind a small, independently owned business," Ireland said.
To Live For is known for croissants, breakfast sandwiches, and layered cakes. The kiosk location promises the same vegan commitment in a more convenient waterfront spot.
