Public Disco, the Vancouver-based non-profit that's been mounting dance music events in unconventional urban spaces for a decade, is hosting its largest event yet in North Vancouver this fall.

The Public Disco Underground Electronic Music Festival takes over the Shipyards District on October 3, featuring three separate spaces designed to offer different atmospheres. An open-air main stage boasts industrial vibe and harbour views under the night sky. The Pipe Shop Venue hosts an all-vinyl listening room with curated visual art projections. The Shipbuilders' Square Food Market features a variety of culinary offerings to fuel the dancers.

Public Disco executive director Nickolas Collinet calls the Shipyards "a brilliant example" of transformation—a post-industrial waterfront reimagined as a gathering space. "This fall, we're bringing artists who have helped shape and sustain house music culture to a site that was built to be reclaimed by the public."

The 19-plus event runs 2 to 10 p.m. Headliners from the U.K. include DJ Leon Vynehall and Prosumer; New York's Fred P and Detroit's DJ Holographic (DET) also anchor the main stage. Vancouver's Dane and Calgary's DJ Hannah complete the main stage roster. The all-vinyl listening lounge features local DJs Scott W, Kozue, Christa Belle and Serena S, with live visuals from artists Toi Whakairo, clara, Laine Butler and ephemeral objects.

Tickets are $47.50 and on sale now at admitone.com.
