Tsawwassen Mills has launched a new 24,000-square-foot Asian night market concept designed to bring foot traffic back to physical retail: TM Wander, a hybrid of elevated hawker-style food stalls, small-business vendor booths, and communal dining areas.
The space is anchored by Big Way Hot Pot, with other vendors including Dinesty Dumplings. The pricing reflects the elevated positioning—a Braised Beef Noodle bowl at Dinesty costs $20.95—yet lines form at nearly every stall. The atmosphere is alive with intimate seating areas illuminated by hundreds of colourful lanterns, while visitors watch fresh taiyaki (traditional Japanese fish-shaped waffles) being prepared before their eyes.
Many spaces in the Wander market remain empty, so the concept is still evolving. But the venue demonstrates how experiential retail—blending food, culture, community, and shopping—can attract visitors back to malls in an era of perceived decline.
TM Wander is located at Tsawwassen Mills, 5000 Canoe Pass Way, Tsawwassen.
