The Great Grandview Garage Sale takes over East Vancouver's Grandview-Woodbine neighbourhood this Saturday, June 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., transforming blocks of local streets into what organizers call "Vancouver's largest collective treasure hunt."
Spanning the area between Broadway and the water, and Clarke and Nanaimo, the event invites hundreds of residents to empty their homes by setting up pop-up shops in front yards, on porches, and in alleyways. For a decade, the garage sale has been a fixture of the Grandview community, offering everything from vintage furniture to books, toys, clothes, and collectibles.
Organizers have created a map showing which properties are participating and what categories of goods are available at each site. More participating sales will be added as more residents join—registration is free for sellers.
It's a low-key, neighborhood-level alternative to organized market events, relying entirely on word-of-mouth and local knowledge.
