Langley Township's annual free Canada Day celebration returns Wednesday, July 1, at McLeod Athletic Park (5678 216 Street) from noon to 10:30 p.m., featuring the return of fireworks after two years of lighted drone displays.

The event typically draws 20,000 to 25,000 visitors. This year, organizers added extensive shade coverage — a large tent and smaller covered areas — to give guests relief from direct sunlight. The fireworks display will begin at 10:15 p.m. and last about 15 minutes.

Attractions include a Kids Zone with bouncy castles and a rock wall, a Family Fun Hub with face painting and mini-golf, food trucks, local artisan stalls, and glow wands for sale at $5. Parking nearby may fill up; the alternative is free parking at Kwantlen Polytechnic University on the Langley Bypass, with free shuttle service running every 20 minutes starting at 11:45 a.m. A bike valet is available at the main entrance for cyclists with their own locks. Leashed pets are welcome. For more details, visit tol.ca/en/arts-culture/canadaday.aspx.
