Two people were hospitalized after a TransLink bus driver suffered a medical emergency and crashed in Lower Lonsdale on Tuesday morning. North Vancouver RCMP say the crash happened around 9:45 a.m. at West Third Street and Mahon Avenue.

Witnesses told investigators the bus was headed west on Third when the driver went into medical distress, causing the bus to collide with several parked cars and then a tree. The driver was taken to hospital and is being treated. One passenger suffered minor injuries.

North Vancouver RCMP and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service are investigating. "We are relieved that no passengers were seriously injured in this collision, and our thoughts are with the bus driver as they receive medical care," said Cpl. Mansoor Sahak, North Vancouver RCMP spokesperson.

Anyone who witnessed or has video of the collision can contact North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 and quote file 26-13248.
