Richmond residents should expect temporary disruptions to power and traffic this week as BC Hydro carries out planned maintenance and construction projects move forward across the city.

BC Hydro has scheduled two power outages for Wednesday, July 15. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect 10 customers at 10731, 10740, 10751, 10760, and 10780 Rosecroft Crescent. A separate outage from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. will affect five customers at 11737–11753 Yoshida Court.

Roadwork and construction projects span multiple areas, with some lane closures and traffic impacts lasting through the month. Notable projects include milling and paving operations on Murchison Road and Shell Road, intersection improvements at No. 4 Road and Westminster Highway (ongoing until October 30), BC Hydro duct bank installation work, watermain installation on Smith Crescent, and dyke repair works on River Road. Several projects will restrict access or require traffic control.

Residents are urged to allow extra travel time and avoid affected areas during construction hours. For a complete list of specific dates, times, and locations, the City of Richmond maintains up-to-date information on its website.
