Homicide investigation underway following West Vancouver death
A man died at a residence in the Squamish Nation village of X̱wemelch'stn following an altercation early Wednesday.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the investigation following a man's death in West Vancouver early Wednesday, June 24.
West Vancouver police were called just after midnight to a residence in the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) village of X̱wemelch'stn following an altercation. A man died at the scene from his injuries. Another man was arrested shortly after by the Vancouver Police Department.
"There is no ongoing risk to public safety," West Vancouver police said in a release.
