Teen assaulted near Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal

West Vancouver police are searching for a suspect after a teenage girl was assaulted near Horseshoe Bay on June 3.

The girl was walking southbound on Keith Road near Douglas Street shortly before 3:30 p.m. when a man walking northbound attempted to wrap his arms around her. She freed herself immediately and fled to safety.

After reviewing CCTV footage and speaking with witnesses, police identified a suspect. He is described as a heavy-set man in his 50s with a bushy grey beard, last seen wearing a light brown hoodie, blue shorts, black socks and shoes. He appeared to be walking with a limp.

The suspect is not local to West Vancouver. Police believe the incident was isolated.
