Chilliwack teen arrested at Edmonds SkyTrain with replica firearm and knife

A Chilliwack teenager was arrested at Edmonds SkyTrain station on Saturday, July 18 after allegedly exposing a firearm to a passenger on an eastbound train.
Vancouver Police were called around 5:25 p.m. after the incident at Nanaimo SkyTrain station. Police broadcasted the suspect's description to regional law enforcement partners. Metro Vancouver Transit Police located the boy at Edmonds SkyTrain station and took him into custody on the platform.
A subsequent search revealed he was carrying a replica firearm and a knife. He was transferred to VPD custody and taken to jail. He has since been released and is facing a charge for weapons possession.
Constable Darren Wong said: "We would like to thank Metro Vancouver Transit Police for assisting in the apprehension of a dangerous suspect. Replica gun or not, this was potentially a very dangerous situation that could have ended much differently." No one was injured in the arrest.
