White Rock's Concerts at the Pier kicks off June 25
Free summer concert series returns for 10th anniversary with Celtic, punk, fusion and '80s pop acts at waterfront venues through August.
White Rock's annual Concerts at the Pier returns for its 10th anniversary this summer with five headliners performing at three venues — two waterfront stages and one community space — from June through August.
The free series opens Thursday, June 25 with The Barra MacNeils 40th Anniversary Tour at the East Beach stage in the Grand Chief Bernard Robert Charles Memorial Plaza parking lot (15457 Marine Drive). The Celtic ensemble brings their signature sound to a waterfront setting with promenade views.
Next up is pop-punk band Faber Driver on Thursday, July 9 at Miramar Village (15187 Thrift Ave.), followed by Canadian classic-rock act Doug and the Slugs on July 23 at the same venue. Delhi 2 Dublin — performers at the forefront of South Asian fusion, blending Bhangra, electronic, hip-hop, reggae and Celtic influences — take the stage Thursday, August 20 at Miramar Village. The series closes with Ontario's Spoons, known for their '80s pop and New Wave sound, on Thursday, August 27 at the West Beach stage at Memorial Park by the iconic pier.
All shows start at 7 p.m. with headliners taking the stage at 8 p.m. Concert-goers are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair. Entry is free.
The series is presented by TD. Visit whiterockbia.com for more details and updates.
