The Vancouver Canucks revealed jersey numbers for four of their offseason acquisitions on Saturday, July 4.
Brendan Gallagher, the biggest offseason pickup after 14 seasons with Montreal, will wear #7 for Vancouver. The 34-year-old forward wore #11 for most of his Montreal tenure and #73 only during his 2012–13 rookie season. The #7 jersey was last worn by Pierre-Olivier Joseph last season.
On the backend, Jamie Oleksiak chose #4, a first-time number for the 33-year-old defenceman. He previously wore #24 with Seattle and #5 and #43 with Dallas. Luke Schenn will again take the #2 sweater, the same number he wore during his first two Vancouver stints and his only number as a Canuck.
Forward Paul Cotter opted for #47, which he also wore with the New Jersey Devils. He will be the first Canucks player to don the number since Noah Juulsen between 2022 and 2025.
Thomas, Fix-Wolansky, and Stienburg were not assigned numbers, likely because they don't have guaranteed NHL spots yet.
