The Vancouver Canucks have signed Ryan St. Louis, the son of Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St. Louis, to an AHL contract with the Abbotsford Canucks.

Ryan St. Louis was passed over in three NHL drafts, including in 2023 during his last year of eligibility, when he was expected to hear his name in the sixth or seventh round. He then attended Brown University, where he spent the last three seasons as a winger. During the 2024-25 season, he led the team with 29 points in 23 games, though his production dipped the following year as Brown went 5-24-2, winless on the road.

The signing was announced Wednesday by new Abbotsford Canucks general manager Richard Seeley, who also signed four other players to AHL contracts. Among them was Quinn Emerson, a 25-year-old winger and Hobey Baker nominee who posted 33 points in 36 games for Bowling Green State University last season. Seeley also signed defenceman Tim Rego, right-shot defenceman Gavin White, and goaltender Mitchell Weeks.

The Abbotsford Canucks remain without a head coach following Manny Malhotra's promotion to the NHL.
