The deadline to request a mail-in ballot for Vancouver's October 17 municipal election has passed. With only a couple of business days remaining, voters who already have their ballots are advised to hand-deliver them to drop boxes instead of using Canada Post.

Vancouver drop box locations include City Hall and nearly a dozen community centres. Voters can find their nearest drop box at vancouver.ca.

Surrey voters who missed Wednesday, October 14's deadline for requesting a mail-in ballot can still pick one up in person at city hall. Those in Victoria who have completed ballots should also deliver them by hand to city hall or an advance voting location due to mail delivery delays the city has experienced.

Canada Post reports no unforeseen delays, but officials in multiple municipalities are taking precautions. Voters in other B.C. municipalities should check their municipality's website for mail-in ballot drop-off locations.

For the provincial election on Saturday, October 24, the mail-in ballot request deadline is 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 18. Completed provincial ballots can be returned by mail or in person at a district electoral office or on advance or final voting day. Voters can find their voting location at wheretovote.elections.bc.ca.
