North Vancouver man charged with luring vulnerable teen in year-long investigation

A North Vancouver man is facing charges following a year-long child exploitation investigation by Port Moody police that began in spring 2025.
Majid Talebi, 58, was charged on Aug. 11 with one count of invitation to sexual touching of a person under 16 and two counts of telecommunication to lure a child under 16 years. Civil court filings allege Talebi exchanged sexually explicit messages with a vulnerable youth in June and July 2025 and sexually assaulted the victim in his vehicle.
Constable Sam Zacharias of Port Moody Police said the investigation was complex and sensitive. "Detectives worked diligently over the past year to collect evidence and bring this matter before the courts," he said in a release. Before charges were even sworn, B.C.'s Office of Civil Forfeiture seized Talebi's 2019 Mercedes E450, alleging it was an instrument of unlawful activity.
When police searched Talebi's Lynn Valley home in August 2025, they seized his phone, computer, USB drives and external hard drives. Inside the car, they found a bottle of apparent Viagra pills and three McDonald's Happy Meal toys, according to court filings. In April 2026, Talebi agreed to surrender the vehicle; 90 per cent of the sale proceeds go to the Office of Civil Forfeiture.
Talebi was scheduled for a first appearance in Port Coquitlam Provincial Court on Wednesday and is due back in September. He has not yet entered a plea, and none of the allegations have been heard in court. A court-ordered publication ban protects any information identifying the alleged victim.
