Vancouver is forecast to reach near its temperature record Sunday, June 14, with an expected high of 25°C as a ridge of high pressure sits over the region. The current record is 25.6°C. Maple Ridge and areas further inland could push past 32°C — well above the regional record of 30.5°C.

Environment Canada meteorologist Nan Lu noted the sunny conditions will mostly hold through the coming week, though temperatures will dip. Monday will see clouds move in as the pressure ridge weakens, bringing a high of about 23°C in Vancouver and around 28°C inland. No precipitation is expected.

Clear skies return after Monday and should last through the rest of the week and into next weekend, with highs of 22–23°C. A light sea breeze at about 20 km/h, gusting to 40 km/h on Tuesday, will help keep things cooler. By Thursday, June 18, when Canada takes on Qatar in the World Cup, conditions look ideal — sunny with a high of 23°C and light winds.

With sun and above-average temperatures — the average for mid-June in Vancouver is 18°C near the water — UV protection will be important, especially for outdoor World Cup watch parties.
