The Vancouver Bandits fell to the Calgary Surge 95–80 Thursday night, scoring the second-lowest point total of the season and trailing for most of the game despite early promise.

Tevin Brown led Vancouver with 21 points, including five three-pointers and five rebounds, while rookie Dominic Parolin added 17 points, two blocks, and five rebounds. Bandits head coach Ransford Brempong attributed the loss to inconsistency. "We did good things in stints. We just didn't do it consistently," he said. "It's going to take discipline. We have to do it during every possession."

Calgary's David Joplin paced the Surge with 19 points, and four Stampede players scored in double figures.

Vancouver was missing several key contributors. Miller Kopp is competing in the NBA Summer League with Houston, while reigning Canadian Elite Basketball League MVP Mitch Creek is playing for Australia in FIBA World Cup Qualifiers.

The matchup was the third of four meetings between Western Conference rivals this season, played at Calgary's Saddledome during the city's annual Stampede game. The Bandits' road trip concludes Saturday when they face the Edmonton Stingers at 6 p.m. at the Edmonton EXPO Centre.
