Vancouver woman hit by blue sedan near Davie Street; driver flees the scene

A 23-year-old pedestrian is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries after being struck Friday evening. Police are asking for witnesses and dashcam footage.

A 23-year-old woman was struck by a blue sedan near Davie Street and Pacific Boulevard on August 22, around 9:30 p.m. and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver did not remain at the scene and was last seen driving eastbound on Pacific Boulevard from Davie Street.

The Vancouver Police Department is investigating the incident and asking the public for help. "We believe there are several witnesses in the area who might have seen what happened," said Const. Darren Wong. "We are asking them or anyone with dashcam footage from the area to contact police."

Failing to remain at the scene of a crash involving a person or another vehicle is a criminal offence in Canada. Anyone with information or video is asked to call the VPD's collision investigation unit at 604-717-3012.
