Tatianna Marr was deep in a pregnancy craving when she started mixing loaded cereal bowls at home. That midnight habit evolved into Tat's Treats, now open in Marda Loop, where soft serve meets nostalgia.
Marr, a former dental hygienist, spent four months testing cereal-and-ice-cream combinations at home before launching the shop earlier this year. The concept is simple: a milky vanilla soft serve base, then the reader's choice. Froot Loops, Captain Crunch, Oreos, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups — the mix-ins are endless, and Marr keeps adding based on what regulars request.
The reigning menu champion is the Tat's Treat itself: Rice Krispies, crushed Oreos, and mini marshmallows. A secret menu item dubbed Over the Rainbow layers Lucky Charms, Captain Crunch, and mini marshmallows. For those paralyzed by choice, house favourites handle the thinking.
"I have lived in Marda Loop basically my entire life, and so I'm so excited to be part of the Marda Loop community," Marr said. The shop is open Wednesday through Sunday. Marda Loop has long drawn food-focused residents to the neighbourhood; Tat's Treats adds another reason to linger on 34th Avenue.
