A 79-year-old driver has died from injuries sustained in a head-on collision with a Calgary Transit bus on Bowness Road N.W. on Friday, August 28.
The man was driving a 2016 GMC Canyon westbound in the 7200 block of Bowness Road N.W. when his vehicle crossed the centre line and collided head-on with a city transit bus shortly after 9 a.m. He was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition and died Tuesday, September 1.
The transit bus driver and occupants were unharmed.
Calgary Police say neither speed nor alcohol are believed to be factors in the collision. The investigation is ongoing. Police have not stated why the vehicle crossed the centre line.
