A Calgary police officer has been charged with assault following an incident last May.
Constable Imran Khan, who has six years of service, was accused of striking a person multiple times with a closed fist during an arrest on May 22, 2025. After consultation with the Edmonton Crown Prosecutor's Office, the Calgary Police Service recommended the charge.
Khan was released from custody and is suspended with pay while his status is reviewed. He will next appear in court on August 6.
