ALERT's Calgary organized crime team seized more than $1 million in cash on July 30 in what investigators believe is the largest single cash seizure in the unit's history.

The search of a home in northeast Skyview also recovered approximately 3,091 grams of suspected fentanyl, 6,881 grams of suspected MDMA, 2,175 grams of methamphetamine, and 481 grams of cocaine—drugs valued at roughly $1.2 million. Two additional homes in Harvest Hills and Rocky Ridge, as well as two vehicles, were also searched.

Kerry Lu, 36, and Donald Ng, 51, have each been charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, and possession of a prohibited weapon. ALERT is continuing to count and analyze the seized funds.

The operation followed an ALERT Lethbridge investigation in May that intercepted nearly four kilograms of cocaine tied to a Calgary-based supplier.
