Cumberland house fire caused by remote control battery malfunction

Edmonton Fire Rescue Services responded to a residential structure fire in the Cumberland neighbourhood on Wednesday evening, May 13, just before 7:30 p.m. The fire, located near Cote Crescent, was determined to have been caused by an electrical or mechanical malfunction in a remote control battery or charger. When crews arrived, heavy smoke was visible coming from an attached garage of the home.
