A 27-year-old cyclist died on September 12 from injuries sustained in a collision with a delivery truck on August 25, nearly three weeks earlier. The collision occurred at 3:30 p.m. at 106 Street and 81 Avenue in Old Strathcona when the delivery truck was heading west on 81 Avenue and struck the cyclist riding northbound on 106 Street.
First responders transported the woman to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The delivery truck driver remained at the scene and reported no injuries at the time of the collision. Edmonton Police Service's Major Collisions Section is investigating the incident.
