Edmonton's Outdoor Pools and Spray Parks Open Soon
City releases full opening schedule. Most spray parks open by June 5. Pools staggered May 20–June 20.
Summer cooling-off season is officially here. The City of Edmonton has released opening dates for all outdoor pools and spray parks, and they're rolling out on a staggered schedule from this week through June.
Spray parks are the first to move. Select ones, including Jackie Parker and Castle Downs, opened officially on May 15. The rest will follow by June 5, giving neighborhoods across the city their own free splash zone for hot days.
Outdoor pools are arriving on a longer timeline. Here's the breakdown:
**Wîhkwêntôwin Outdoor Pool** (downtown core): Opens Wednesday, May 20. Public swim noon–8 p.m. $6.50+ or free for kids under two.
**Mill Creek Outdoor Pool**: Opens Saturday, May 23. Noon–8 p.m. daily. Picnic tables and tanning area on the grounds.
**Queen Elizabeth Outdoor Pool**: Opens Saturday, May 30. 11 a.m.–7 p.m. Adjacent to Kinsmen Spray Park and river valley trails.
**Fred Broadstock Outdoor Pool** (West Edmonton): Opens Saturday, June 6. 11 a.m.–7 p.m. Features a children's teach pool and diving boards (one and three metres).
**Borden Natural Swimming Pool**: Opens Saturday, June 20. This is Canada's first public, chemical-free natural swimming pool with a sandy exterior and lounge space. 10:30 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
One change for 2026: concessions aren't available at outdoor pool sites anymore, so bring your own food and water bottles. Admission is consistent across all pools at $6.50+ (free for kids under two).
