Man dies after parking lot confrontation in Mill Woods

A 23-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle during a confrontation in a Mill Woods parking lot last week.

The collision happened May 28 at Mill Woods Road and 28 Avenue after a dispute between a pedestrian and driver. Police said the victim approached a vehicle and was "inadvertently" struck when the motorist tried to drive away.

The man was alive when police arrived but was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.

Edmonton police major collision investigations section is handling the case. Speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
