Advance voting for Toronto's municipal election begins today and runs through October 11, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters can cast their ballots at their designated voting location in their ward.
To vote, you must be a Canadian citizen at least 18 years old and either live in Toronto or own or rent property in Toronto. Voters can only vote once, regardless of how many properties they own or rent, and must vote in the ward where they live.
Acceptable ID must show your name and a Toronto address. Acceptable documents include an Ontario driver's licence, employer pay stub, post-secondary report card or transcript, or utility bill. A passport alone is not acceptable because it does not include an address.
Election day is October 26, with polls open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mail-in ballot registration closed September 24, but completed mail-in voting packages can still be returned to Toronto Elections by Wednesday, October 14 at noon. Proxy voting is available; both the proxy and voter must be eligible and complete the required form.
Voters can find their polling station address on their voter card or using the city's MyVote tool at www.toronto.ca/Elections. You can also add, confirm or update your voter list information until 7 p.m. on October 11 at the same website.
